Acne Patch Introduction

Acne patches are specialized wound dressings primarily composed of a synthetic elastomer based on Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC). These components form a gelatin-like structure within the dressing, hence the term "hydrocolloid."

How do they work? This relies on their unique "Absorption and Moisturization" mechanism. Upon contact with fluid from a broken acne lesion, the patch absorbs the exudate and transforms into a gel-like substance. This maintains a moist wound environment while effectively isolating the area from external bacteria and contaminants. Additionally, applying makeup over the patch helps isolate cosmetics or pollutants, effectively preventing secondary contamination of the acne. They have broad applicability: suitable for teenage acne, heat/acne from spicy food, menstrual acne, and stress/sleep-deprivation acne.

Product Principle：

The core principle of hydrocolloid acne patches is to leverage the physical and chemical properties of hydrocolloid material to create an ideal healing environment for acne.

A. Physical Barrier & Protection：

1. Barrier Effect: Covers the acne, forming a physical barrier. 
2. Prevents Touching & Squeezing: Avoids introducing bacteria, causing secondary damage, worsening inflammation, and reducing the risk of acne scars/pits. 
3. Blocks External Contaminants: Prevents dust, cosmetics, bacteria, etc., from contacting open wounds (e.g., broken acne), lowering infection risk. 
4. Reduces Friction: Protects acne from irritation caused by clothing, pillows, etc. 

B. Absorption of Exudate：

1.Hydrocolloid Properties: Hydrocolloid material (typically composed of Sodium CMC, Gelatin, Pectin, Elastomers) has strong hydrophilicity and absorption capacity.
2.Absorbs Secretions: When exudates like tissue fluid or pus (especially from broken, oozing acne) contact the patch, the hydrocolloid material absorbs them.
3.Forms Gel: Upon absorbing fluid, the hydrocolloid material swells, forming a moist, soft gel layer over the wound. The visible whitening/bulging of the patch is this gel formation.

C. Creates a Moist Wound Healing Environment：

1.Core Advantage: This is the most crucial principle of hydrocolloid technology, drawing from modern wound healing concepts (Moist Wound Healing Theory).
2.Promotes Autolytic Debridement: The moist environment helps soften pus plugs or necrotic tissue at the acne's surface, facilitating their breakdown and removal by the body's own enzymes (autolytic debridement). Sometimes softened/liquefied secretions are removed when the patch is peeled off.
3.Accelerates Cell Migration & Proliferation: A moist environment is more conducive than a dry scab to epidermal cell migration and proliferation, speeding up wound healing.
4.Reduces Pain & Inflammation: Moisture protects exposed nerve endings, reducing pain. A good healing environment also helps resolve inflammation faster.
5.Lowers Scarring Risk: Moist wound healing is proven to reduce scarring, helping minimize acne marks/pits.

D. Provides Micro-Pressure Absorption (Secondary Effect)：

The patch's adhesion creates slight pressure on the acne. Combined with hydrocolloid absorption, this micro-pressure may help direct exudate flow towards the patch for absorption.

E. Adsorption Effect：

The hydrocolloid gel layer may have some adsorptive capacity, trapping impurities and bacteria from the wound surface.
